What We Collect

This site does not use analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party tracking scripts. No personal accounts or forms exist. The only client-side storage used is a language-preference cookie (NEXT_LOCALE, set only when you manually switch language) and a dark-mode preference in localStorage — both strictly functional and containing no personal data. Sponsored links to European services may appear between sections; these are static HTML links that do not track your behaviour.

The web server (Caddy, running on OVHcloud infrastructure in the EU) records standard access logs that may include your IP address, request timestamp, URL path, HTTP status code, and user-agent string. These logs are retained for up to 14 days for operational and security purposes and are then automatically deleted.

Legal Basis

Server log processing is based on the controller’s legitimate interest in maintaining site security and availability (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Under Swiss law (nDSG), this processing falls within the scope of ordinary data processing that does not require separate consent.

Third-Party Data Transfers

All data processing occurs on EU-hosted infrastructure (OVHcloud, France). Fonts are self-hosted at build time; no runtime requests are made to Google or other non-EU services on your behalf.

The site’s server-side API routes fetch data from public APIs (Eurostat, ECB, ENTSO-E, World Bank, etc.). These requests are made server-to-server and do not expose your IP address or any personal data to those services.

Advertising & Sponsorship

This site may display sponsored links to European companies (affiliate programmes). These links are static HTML — no third-party advertising scripts, cookies, or tracking pixels are loaded. If you click a sponsored link, the destination site’s own privacy policy applies. The publisher may receive a commission from the affiliate programme; this does not influence the editorial content of the site.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR (Art. 15–21) and the Swiss nDSG (Art. 25–29), you may request access to, rectification or erasure of your personal data. In practice, the only data this site holds is server access logs (IP address, timestamp, URL) which are automatically deleted after 14 days. For any data-related request, contact aurelian.john-herpin@pm.me. Manifestly unfounded or excessive requests may be refused or subject to a reasonable fee (Art. 12(5)).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. For France this is the CNIL. For Switzerland this is the FDPIC (Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner).
